A native of South Central Los Angeles, Guy has had a long career working as an educator for our underserved communities. Having taught for over 20 years as a middle school Science teacher in South Sacramento, he has taken on different roles over the years. These roles include AVID Coordinator/Teacher, Department Chair, Mentor Teacher within the district, and participation on the school's Equity Leadership Team. During this time, he has worked with rising teachers as an Instructional Coach/Mentor for an academic summer program for motivated youth of color from underserved communities. An Alumni of the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program, he currently is serving on the board of directors for a local charter school. Recently, he has taken the position of Science Educator for BSCS, Science Learning where he facilitates researched based professional learning opportunities for teachers across the nation.
